We have a fellow woodworker located in California, who is searching for cypress or another suitable wood to build "Jake's Chair." Here is where he's located. Hopefully some of you can suggest where he might find cypress or another suitable wood.

I'm in Alta Loma, So. Calif. ZIP 91701

Thanks in advance for any help you can give him.

His name is Joe Lyddon and his e mail is: mailto:woodworkstuff@earthlink.net

They don't show cypress on there web site but if you call them if they don't have it they will know where to get it, here is there web site http://www.reellumber.com/index.htm. They have to locations on in Anaheim and another in Riverside. Boy do I miss shopping their, its like a kid in one big candy store and you get to pick your own boards.

If I were in Cali I would use Redwood, it is plentiful and cheap there and will last outside as well as Cypress.

+1 on redwood. I got a few boards at a super deal at Habitat back before they moved and figured out what stuff is worth. :)
I like the smell of working cypress better (oatmeal! yum...) but redwood is really easy to work with.
