Apple?

I'm preparing to take down a couple of apple trees. Is apple good for turning?

Go ahead and split it into halves or quarters. Otherwise it split’s terribly.

Thanks for the replies. I had planned on bundling up the smaller limbs for the smoker. I'll be sure to split the wood as soon as it is cut.
