Mike, That is a DW972 drill. I have worked on 100's of them. I have one now. It is a older model with the metal box and the yellow charger. The date code is stamped on the inside where the battery goes. will be the 2 digit year and 2 digit week (ie: 9734 = 34th week of 1997). Also know that the price of 2 new batteries is about the price of the kit with 2 batteries. There was a few issues with the bronze bushing at the back of the motor coming out and the carbon brush mounts getting hot and melting. Not trying to scare you off. When I was in repair people would ask my opinion of a tool, my response was "don't ask me the only ones I see are broke" LOL. Though the price is hard to beat. Let me know if I can be any more help.
