I'm fortunate to be spendiing this week in Asheville, making sawdust with Greg Paolini (his bow arm Morris chair workshop). If I remember I'll take some pics. And while the locals complain about the heat, it's a lot nicer than Raleigh's 100 degree plus summer. Yesterday we spent some time at the Southern Highland Craft Guild craft fair and there was plenty of wonderful woodwork. One artist that caught my eye was Ray Jones, box maker, and I though you might enjoy seeing his work. The woods he uses are stunning:

Brian Boggs was there with his newer guitar chair, which is wonderfully comfortable, and also Alan Daigre, who has designed a unique chair style. Also remarkably comfortable:

Hey Dan, glad you are able to enjoy "cool green Asheville". Its all relative, especially this time of year.
There are places to go that offer great respite from the heat.
The guild craft shows at the civic center regularly offer some decent opportunities to show and sell the local work.
If you find time, you might check the Folk Art Center on the Parkway just up from Highway 70. Lots of the same folks things at the Craft guild show, but a regular venue with the Parkway.
If you need anything or have questions while in the area, send me a pm and hopefully I can offer some direction.

I was in Asheville and Waynesville over the weekend. We saw all the wonderful works at the fair! Passed by Asheville Hardware this morning and then topped off the day at 12 Bones! I wish I could have stayed longer. I'm sorry I missed you Dan. Sound like your having a great time! :icon_thum
