The ultimate home workshop Dust Collector, $450. Designed by Bill Pentz. See his site: http://billpentz.com/woodworking/cyclone/index.cfm
Entire assembly stands 11 ft high. Could be reduced to 9’6” for lower ceilings or you could build an access hole through your shop ceiling. I had an HVAC contractor test this unit and found it produces 800 CFM through a 6” duct, just as the design specifies. The fan is a 30 lb steel impeller driven by a 5 hp 220v motor, in keeping with Mr Pentz’s optimum design recomendations. My unit does not provide for filtering exhaust air as it exhausts outside, but that could be added. That said, there is very little dust left in the exhaust, so filter change or cleaning should be minimal. I have over $1,200 invested in this unit, but I want to make room for more equipment and dust collection is a low priority for me. So I want to sell it and make more room. Call Ed 704-776-5591
