Let Freedom Ring clock. Unkown wood. Got the piece from my brother. It was light wood with a slight rose hue. Sprayed with shellac and the finish darkened right down with the appearance of black walnut. This is a Steve Good design.- sawman101

Neighbor came over one day with 2 nice pieces of old red oak shelf boards. He wanted me to glue them up so he could make a desk for his daughter, who is a nursing student. He also had 4 4x4x24 poplar pieces for the legs. This is what we made- sawman101

Clocks?
Any one built any type of mantle clock? Or wall clock? Did you use plans? Simple joinery? For some reason, I'm kinda fascinated with clocks lately. :dontknow: I'm working on the one in the current issue of ShopNotes. NOPE! :nah: No pics and ain't gonna be none until I figure out this...- JackLeg

100 year old oak turned to clocks
Just some quick clocks i threw together for two christmas presents. the wood came out of a house i was allowed to salvage wood from before it was demo'd. the house dated to 1898 and this oak was a header/lintle for a wide doorway leading from parlor to parlor. i went in looking for doors and...- russellellis
