    The Australian Burl bowl is finished!

    Australian Burl Winged Bowl

    Here's a winged bowl I finally finished. The wood is an Australian Brown Mallee burl. These winged bowls are a lot of fun since you have the equivalent of a saw blade spinning a 1/2" from your knuckles the whole time you're turning :wink_smil. I finished the bowl with Behlens SBF.

    does anyone know where to get australian exotic woods around raleigh or anywhere somewhat close to here? the selection at east wake hardwoods is fantastic but i'm just wondering if there is anyone or any place else that has stuff like that as well... especially figured eucalyptus (oblique)...
