#12

#12 1/2 Wooden Base Finish?

I snagged a 12 1/2 Cabinet Scraper a while back and the wooden base was worn down to the point that the screws were showing through the bottom. I cut a 3/8" thick replacement base out of some mystery South American decking wood (rose colored, heavy, tough) Dino gave me. No idea what this stuff...

Blade for Stanley #12 1/2

The original blades for the 12 1/2 are hard to find and most people cut down an old saw blade to fit. My metalworking skills and tools are lacking so I found an easy alternative...

Stanley #12 scraper

Got my Stanley #12 today. It is in great shape but I will likely buy a new Hock blade for it. Insom, any tips on setting the angle to get those fine shavings? I tried to upload some pics but the system won't take them. Will try again later. Mike
