Tilt top on the router table

Your photo caught my eye for several reasons, and I have some quesitons. Looks like your tilt top router table fits between the guide rails of a TS3650, is that correct? That happens to be the table saw I have. I was looking for some way to "claim" that space and give me some addtional table saw surface and at the same time make my router a bit more accessible. Do you have any more photos of the router table? What do you have for dust collection for the router table?

Yes sir that is a ts3650, and there is about 1/2" on each side between the router table top and the rails on the tablesaw. I can get more pictures that are a little clearer, I took those in my album with my phone. I have a shop vac under the right wing of the tablesaw, which collects dust from it. I plan to put a "Y" on the hose and use blast gates so I don't have to unhook the vaccum form the tablesaw to use it on the router. My fence has the dust port, I will post pictures of it. As soon as I get some time away from my schoolwork I plan to add a dust chute in the cabinet to keep it from covering everything inside. It also has a home-made mobile base lift system similar to Ridgid's Herc-U-Lift. If you have anymore questions let me know!

Thanks, you had several good ideas there. BTW - how do you like the 3650? I got a kick out of your signature line. Reminds me of the variation my Dad told me. I measured once, cut twice and it is STILL too short!

"I measured once, cut twice and it is STILL too short!"
-haha thats the story of all of my woodworking ventures.

I love my 3650. I replaced the included blade with a freud which has a thicker plate (i'm not fond of thin-kerf blades on tablesaws) and it made a huge difference. I also have the Ridgid oss. belt/spindle sander, jointer, planer, and 12v X2 cordless drill, and all have given me trouble-free service. BTW, if you find any minor rust on your 3650, don't use the "boesheild rust-free," it stained my table. I still believe WD-40 is the best product. If you have any more questions, or if you would like pictures of a specific part of the table, let me know!
