The issue of fund raising doesn't necessarily rest with the entire board. However, we are sailing in uncharted waters now, so I am making the BoD aware of the results of the first week of the drive.
The first week has ended and we have 8 donations for a total of $190 before paypal fees. We need an annual amount of $6,000 which, of course, is $1,500/qtr. Does anyone have any thoughts on informing the membership on a weekly basis of our results? This can get to be a "touchy" subject, but if they are aware of our needs, they may be more forthcoming in making a donation. Our raffles may, very well, make up any shortfall we have in donations, but we have to raise 1/3 of our revenue from donations in order to obtain, and maintain, non-profit 501(c)3 status. Thoughts and comments are welcome.
