Slabs for Roubo style workbenches

This afternoon we set up the crane for moving the big log. The log can be seen sitting to the left of the crane.

First thing in the morning we'll attach the slings to the log, lift it up and trim the ends back to get rid of the checking. We'll also chainsaw the flare off of the butt end and then set it into the sawmill bunks.

It ought to be a fun day! For those that come out, please bring gloves, as well as safety glasses and ear protection. It would also be a good idea to wear workboots.
