I posted a few months ago to get some ideas from you folks. Many thanks for that input. :icon_cheers

I bought about 10 bf from Rick DiNardo (Woodworking Source in Mooresville). Mostly 7' x 7.5" x 15/16" at S3S. Nice wood. The Hardwood Store also carries it, but it's not listed on their online inventory so you have to ask about it. Their selection at the time was only about 5" wide, but I'm sure they could get what you want.

The panel is 21.5" x 16" with no finish. The narrow piece is framed in select pine just to see how it might look in a frame/panel. It has Waterlox Original (3x). Both "panels" were slightly raised using a core box bit (hand held router) instead of a cove bit. I really like the wood; the grain is nice and it works well as DaveO and BAS said earlier.

No project in mind yet, but this is worth a thought for a future one.

It's a beautiful wood, and really easy to machine. You can get some tearout when the grain runs a little wild, but that's why they invented drum sanders :tool:

With an oil finish, it almost resembles QS beech in hue. With shellac & waterborne poly, it retains a lot of the pink. Very versatile.

Ditto on the affection for QS sycamore! Any profile cut with the grain really POPS the figure! :icon_thum
And the cost is outstanding considering the unique grain patterns.
