Have you ever thought, “I might like to learn to turn on a lathe?” Do you have an interest but not ready to invest in tools until you have a taste of turning wood?

The NCWoodworking.com forum understands. We have a loaner lathe to help. This lathe is “loaned” for ~3 months—based on demand—and comes equipped with tools and other support equipment (Goodwill Lathe inventory). You only need to furnish your time and the wood.

Woodn’t you like to learn to turn? If so, DM me (user name Dee2) and I’ll schedule and facilitate your opportunity to learn to turn.

Bump. Good opportunity to learn if you like it without making a big investment.

The Goodwill lathe is really an awesome and unique opportunity that this group provides for someone to learn a new skill at their own pace without having to invest money in buying your own items. I had the opportunity to have the Goodwill lathe many years ago and it helped me to know the features and accessories I wanted to purchase when I got my own lathe.

If you are on the fence and can't decide if you would be able to find help and instruction for turning there are several members across the State willing to offer training. For anyone in my area if you get the Goodwill lathe I will come to your shop, help you set it up and show you how to use the basic tools.

We are in the process of transferring the lathe at this time so if you are interested DM me and I'll add you to the list.
