I started noticing this yesterday. If I'm viewing a thread, then click "2" or "3" to go to the next page in the thread, it just reloads the first page of the thread. :icon_scra This happens on every thread. I'm running XP and Fire Fox on my old laptop. :dontknow:

Same issue here with IE7. I logged out and back in as well as restarting IE but still have the same issue.

I usually don't follow multi page post, but just checked one and same problem with Vista & Firefox 3.6.

Have a nice day, Jim :gar-La;

Sorry....couldn't help myself......I used to be the clean white shirt from out of town too!

Hmmm, let me hear from those seeing this issue, are you using Hybrid Mode?

In any thread, its under "Display Options" above the first post.

Jim, not sure about the hybrid mode thingy. :icon_scra

But maybe this will help. These are the three URLs from your thread "Why do you like handtools."

Page 1: http://www.ncwoodworker.net/forums/f30/why-do-you-like-hand-tools-29994/

Page 2: http://www.ncwoodworker.net/forums/f30/why-do-you-like-hand-tools-29994/index2.html#post298435

Page 3: http://www.ncwoodworker.net/forums/f30/why-do-you-like-hand-tools-29994/index3.html#post298435

Page 2 & 3 loaded for a second and I copied the URLs and pasted them in notepad before I was redirected back to the first page. :icon_thum

Hybrid mode -- on a MAC:BangHead:. This is the problem I was trying to describe on:http://www.ncwoodworker.net/forums/f86/malicious-software-warning-30330-post301350/

Thanks,

I'm seeing Trent, Rob and Joe all having Hybrid Mode set in the user profiles for "Thread view mode".

Both Steve and I are able to recreate the reported problem when we use Hybrid Mode.

I'm working through the code to find out whats going on.

More as time passes....

For now, I'd suggest switching to Linear mode if the issue is affecting the happiness and joy you find in your life ;-)

I think Joe Scharle can recreate it in linear mode.

Since around 1515hrs, I'm just seeing the 'original thread' repeated at the top of each page. Pages increment sequentially in both directions.

I'm wondering if Joe has a whole new problem.......

Sounds like he's seeing threads in Threaded Mode.

Never a dull moment.....

Jim, I switched over to linear mode (oldest post first) and it is working fine with that. The tree question kinda threw me, but I did it the second time. :gar-La;

Ok, a few updates.

If you change your Default Thread Display Mode in your User Settings/Edit options, then it changes in your system profile.

By changing in while in a thread (Display Options), it does not change the setting in your system profile.

So, thats why I was not clear on Joe's report.

Sadly, playing with that doesn't help the problem. But, at least part of a mystery is solved.....
