Well, that certainly brings back many fond memories!:eek:ccasion1 I never used a mash paddle though. Those look very similar to some paddles that a number of teachers in the junior high school I went to (early 60's) used to brandish. Apparently, the holes decreased the wind resistance and allowed a higher paddle speed. Ah, the good old days!

I wonder if one could claim that the beer is "sycamore aged" if these paddles are used?

Yeah I recall a teacher or two using a similar paddle but they weren't for mashing... :embaresse

Actually it's an experimental batch. there's a lb of clover honey in the primary with the brown ale once it's done it'll be primed with a little bit of pecan syrup, then into bottles to age. So I guess we could claim Sycamore Aged Honey Brown Pecan Ale, anyways, it's making me thirsty.
