I placed this thread in moderation from the off-topic forum. Matt is a friend but he is also a real character. I do not think his intension was bad but his timing is very bad.

Leave the post closed. I will talk to him directly.

Matt isn't a trouble maker, I think he's trying to do what he said, throw out some lightness.

Sadly, I fear he did something akin to waving a red flag at a charging bull.

At the least, maybe check in with him and maybe reword it a bit.
