Hello everyone!

Some of you may recall my thread a few days ago where I gloated about getting my Grizzly 14" BS. Well, it took me about 3 hours and luckily I had some assistance from a coworker, but it is ready to go! :icon_thum I put it together normally at first, cut it on, ran great, made some sawdust, cut it off. I then checked out the riser kit and took it apart and put that in (with assitance). It runs really well. I did notice a little bit of a vibration like Vanilla Gorilla was talking about with the riser block on, but it doesn't seem bad enough to really affect my work. Anywho, here are a few pics, just to prove that it DID happen. ;-)

Dude, YOU SUCK!!! Congrats on getting the saw up and running. I really need to get a riser block as well....

Agree the dude standing next to the saw looks a little weird. At least he's wearing safety glasses :rolf:

Thanks Bas!

I can't tell you how many times I unscrewed and rescrewed the knobs that open the top and bottom before I realized they just open and close. :slap: :rotflm:

PS- I wasn't feeling or looking very photogenic this morning. In a related story, Carolina won last night. :icon_thum

OK, I gotta admit, that's a mistake I hadn't heard of before. That's pretty darn funny :) Let me give you another tip: This thing is electrical, no need to spin the blade by hand.

BTW - as far as mistakes go...Last weekend I was flush-trimming some ZCIs for the table saw. Trimmed the edge, checked, still too large, nothing coming off. Checked router bit. Then it dawned on me things might work better if the bearing rides against the _template_, not the piece you're trying to trim....

Well, conSUCKulations granted on the BS!! Looks like you did a great job with the riser block, too. :icon_thum

That dude standing next to the saw kinda reminds me of an old ZZ Top song...(I don't mean the glasses were cheap either).

That's an awesome shop, you're gonna need some serious iron to fill it.

The glasses were definitely not cheap, well they are now, but, you know. That's actually the warehouse at work, where I do all of my ww'ing.

Roger,

Luckily I had the help of one and sometimes two of my older and more mechanically inclined coworkers. I did most of the work, but there were a few times when I was just standing there and they were doing everything. :icon_thum The surf should be good for a while starting Sunday. Good for me, bad for the rest of you (usually that means rain). ;-)

Hey Trent,
That ain't the surf in the background:rotflm:.

Good luck with it.

Jimmy,

Ahhh, if only this house had a garage. I would never move anywhere again. :rotflm:

Trent,

Congrats on the bandsaw. That been on my gotta-go-buy-it-soon list for a long time. I'm holding off till I get my shop in order... and that is taking forever.

Ray,

I got that one with riser kit and a few different blades for less than $500 (including shipping). Not a bad deal if you're on a tight budget. Can't wait to see what you get! :icon_thum

Sweet!! Trent...I was expecting to see it set up in the living room :lol:

Dave:)

I'm sure the roommate would just LOVE a nice dusty bandsaw in the living room. I personally think that the smell of sawdust and grease would accent the potpouri (sp?) and flowers perfectly. Hmmmm......:eusa_thin :rotflm:
