Anyone use this?

Bought some GF gel stain, from WWS, and saw this listed as a good finish for the gel stain. Should have paid a little closer attention. I thought it was a finish for use over gel stain. It is actually a "gel" wipe on finish. Sure was a surprise when I opened the can.

The directions say to stir well to insure nothing has settled. Beats me how anything could settle in this thick gel. It actually went on quite nicely. I am prefinishing panels before assembling sides for a dresser.

The directions do not say to sand between coats. Guess I will go to their web site and see if it sheds any light on this.

Hoping someone can give me some insight into how durable this finish is.

I've used a can or two of it. It is very durable. Since it is a gel it does not flow and erase application streaks. This leads to doing very thin coats with a rag in order to have a smooth finish so it takes quite awhile to build up and it doesn't dry very fast. As I recall I did sand in between coats. I now use Waterlox on the things I was using the gel on because Waterlox is easier to apply and builds much faster.
