My wife wanted me to post a few pics of the pantry I made her this spring. It's 100% 3/4 southern yellow pine measures 7'4" tall by 6'6" wide and 16" deep. I edge glued panel after panel after panel to get enough to make this. My wife drew up a sketch of the front face measurements and explained she wanted 5 flip out bins on the bottom. 3 of which she uses for a clothes hampers, 1 for onions and the other for potatoes. It took a little doing to figure out how to make the flip out bins so they would stay open by them selves, but I finally figured it out.
It took a lot of pine to make this, all the SYP came from my brother in laws place from a few years ago when he lost 5 tall pine trees during an ice storm. I had them sawed up into 4/4 boards, stacked and dried them out in my wood shop.
Also had to dry fit it in my shop and disassemble. One of my sons and I carried the pieces into the house and reassembled with glue. When assembled it's to big to get through a door to the house...
Anyways it has a ton of storage and my wife did an awesome job designing it, with the flip out bins, adjustable shelves and drawers. It looks right at home in our sun room between the kitchen and laundry room.
Finish is several clear gloss coats of poly urethane, no sealer or toner.
Thanks
