I am attempting to build a flag display case for a recently deceased veteran's widow . I am considering adding a brass plaque to the design. my question is this :
Is there a standard or some kind of ettiquette for the information included on this ?
Name, birth/death dates, service dates, rank etc ?
This has been quite a challenging project for me and if I decide to include the plaque I want it to be tasteful and honorable ...not gaudy :nah:
Any input or discussion/opinion would be greatly 'preeshated :icon_thum

Robert, if you would like to put the plaque I would ask the wife of the Vet to see what she would like to have on it. Did the Vet. have any awards/medals/certificates that you could build the case to show these instead? If you remember the one that I built - it show the cerificate that came with the flag. If I were to add a plaque to a flag case I personally would just have the Vets name and rank. JAT

If going simple, I usually just see Name, Rank & Branch of service,
More complex, add DOB/DOD and or Service dates, as well as major campaigns part of.

"On behalf of a grateful nation" is a common quote used

Could also put a larger plaque (laser engrave?) on the back with additional info.
