No top for that matter.
50 caliber Parker refill with Polaris nib

For comparison
The top one is a standard Polaris
the middle is a 50 cal
the bottom is a 338 which is approximately a standard pen lenght

Eagle, how heavy is that 50 cal? Seems like it would be top heavy! It is pretty cool though!

I see sanding lines...otherwise, it looks pretty good  Great idea, Eagle.

The customer wanted the casing natural, the writing on it was the results of the one time he fired the gun.
The original plan was to powder coat the transition and nib.
I showed it to him today and he was tickled pink with it the way it was.

I never did weigh it.I didn't plan on delivering it today.
We originally planned on powdercoating the "slug" a flat silver to make it look like lead.
I do have some concerns about it.
1.It is meant to be displayed standing on the primer end.In almost 3 years of making mostly Parker refill pens I have had one refill leak.Since this will be "upside down" most of the time I am concerned that it may leak.
I designed it so the "guts" will dissassemble with one allen screw through the primer.
The other concern is it may be a PITA to write with because it will be upside down.I may have to get a "Fisher" refill. The type that write upside downn

Well..it was supposed to just be funny, but I'm finding sarcasm is not overly obvious in a chat/thread :eusa_doh:
