Here are a few more of the baskets I've finished:

Bird's eye Maple

I've started cutting some different patterns and will try to get more posted over the weekend. these things are really addicting!

The pattern is basically the outline of the basket with repeating rows. You cut out the innermost row, then the next until you cut the outside line (you work inside out so you have larger pieces of wood to work with). Rotate the layers as you glue them up and that's what you get. Is that any clearer?

:rotflm: LOML declares I have OCD when it comes to baskets! I cut 10 Tues & Wed - and have another 10 or so that I haven't put any finish on yet.

Cathy your baskets are intriguing. If they are similar to the ones Robin and I saw the quality is stellar! We are in need of an upgrade in the scroll saw department, then comes the practice practice practice. This site is blessed with scroll artisans!
I think one of my problems is I want to do it ALL! Since I can't make myself spend enough time on any one discipline, it shows- but what do ya do??:dontknow:

It's kind of difficult getting good side shots of these because they are only 1 to 2 inches tall. Here's a couple of side views but they may not be those exact bowls.





I am going to post a tutorial photo thread for these which may help.
