Which epoxy and pigment ?
I am currently building an oak frame for a bathroom mirror. In the frame I will be inlaying colored epoxy. The oak frame and the groove for the epoxy will be painted brown. The epoxy I plan to pour in will likely be tinted light blue or I may stay with clear. Does anyone have a experience... -

My First Burl Bowl
This is my first Burl I ever turned. I have been turning for a little over a year and finally felt up to the challenge of a beast of a bowl as this, I turned it very green, the branch was only down 3 weeks before I turned it. Got it down to 1/4" sides and 3/8" bottom. It is 9.5" diameterx 4"...- thisnobody

voids in a glue up

checks & voids
I'm making several end grain cutting boards for Christmas gifts. One of the boards has some small checks and insect holes in it. I filled them w/5-minute epoxy, but now I'm wondering if it will be "food safe". Anyone have any advice?- welldigger

Dealing with lumber checks and voids?
Some times I'll go ahead and use a piece of wood that may have a small check (crack) in the wood. Checking usually occurs around figure, like crotch feathers, burl, knots and on the endrgain.
