How long till it checks

checks & voids

I'm making several end grain cutting boards for Christmas gifts. One of the boards has some small checks and insect holes in it. I filled them w/5-minute epoxy, but now I'm wondering if it will be "food safe". Anyone have any advice?

Dealing with lumber checks and voids?
