I just got this little (4 1/8 in. long) jewel made by Zen Toolworks in Ca. The picture doesn't do it justice. I couldn't resist for 35 bucks and it works great.

No it's not a Crown, it's hand made by this guy in Calif. He advertised the hardness at 62Rc and it seems to be good.

I think all his prices are extremely low for the quality of material and the fine craftsmanship.

When I get a few bucks ahead I will look at this again.

I have been looking at the shoulder plane he makes and considering purchasing it. Not a Stanley 93 but I think I am willing to give it a try.

Roger, I spent maybe 5 min. honing the blade and setting it in the body. The first shaving was thin enough to see thru. I was amazed at its performance at that price.

Would a shoulder plane be used to clean up rabbits? I've been looking at a plane that will do that.
