No, not what you think.

I've been working hard with the Hillsborough Orange Woodworkers Meetup getting parts sanded for our group Adirondack Chair build.

What I caught myself doing, during the many hours of sanding, is falling in love with wood.

The grain, knots, contrasts, shades and patterns just move me. I'd pause, look, usually touch, smile then go back to work. :5sigh:

Sometimes, I fear I lose sight of what all this is about. The beauty of the wood brought me back.

I Just got a nice big board of some curly Koa and I was doing the same thing, some might say I was rubing the board and some would say fondling :) but I still am amazed at the grain in wood, I love my job!!!! Aloha.

I want to make a response so bad here - But I know that some how or another it would violate the site's Terms of Service

Seriously though - I can completely relate. You can sometimes get lost in the undulations of a piece of Tiger maple, or the hypnotizing flake of quarter sawn white oak.
