Where to go in Raleigh

I have to head to Raleigh tomorrow afternoon and looking for something to do for a couple hours. I’m good with a lumber store or anything else that might be interesting to see in mid- to late-afternoon.

Not in Raleigh but there is the Klingspor store in Cary. Easy to get to from Raleigh.

If you like plants/trees check out the JC Raulston Arboretum. Free and can easily burn a couple hours.

The history museum is also free, and is a nice way to spend some time, especially if the weather isn't agreeable.

I recommend the NC History Museum. There is currently an exhibit on the furniture making legacy in NC. Haven't been yet, but planning a visit when I have the time. It runs through March, 2024. Check out the details at Furniture: Crafting a North Carolina Legacy | North Carolina Museum of History.
We went today. Note the ironing board chair.

Several Thomas Day pieces plus histories of many NC furniture factories.
