What’s this worth?

Helping a friend sell some tools and wondering what a fair price on this Laguna mortiser would be. Works as it should and comes with extra chisels as well. Thanks in advance for the help!

Looking on the intarwebs the model number on the Laguna sticker is pretty much a no finder when doing a GIS. That's not a good sign usually since everything under the sun has been googled and webpaged a few times. The model name on the manual pictured differs from the one on the machine but when GIS'd shows that it was a Chinese made machine from the early 80's and the pictures really match on that. They show a price of $500 but I'm not sure that's a new or used price, and I'm really left guessing (due to the era especially) if that is a knockoff without auth or if it's a valid Laguna machine. The pics fit on that though so I'm guessing it's the same machine. Just a guess though.

Kinda hinkey really.

In looking online I found that particular model number from Laguna and then found another site showing a price of $775. That seems low for a new stand alone, so perhaps that was what someone was trying to get used, but hard to say.

These types of machines have always seemed harder to sell and Laguna’s customer service reputation may not help (I have their 16” planer and 12” jointer and have had good experience with them).

I would say a comparable newer model IE Powermatic or equivalent (not many mfrs for these floor standing models) would be around $1750 new but I found this site FWIW:

Used, I would put this at about $750/BO

I've seen slightly used Powermatics advertised for $600 - 750. I would guess this would be worth $300- 400. My main concern would be availability of replacement parts.

Was told about 10 years old, my guy said it was imported from China and not a very good machine. Not sure if this helps, but they have discussed bringing another in(making it better) but not enough volume....

Id be first in line with $400, I think youre thinking for benchtop models
