I have Wen Power pole drywall sander. I have had it for couple of years now. TBH, when connected to a vacuum it collects 95% of the dust. It really was a game changer to sheetrock finishing my home while living in it. The Wen unit was about 100 bucks when I got it. I have let subs use it on my commercial jobs and they really liked it as well. But, it is kinda heavy about 8- 1/2 lbs
Anyway, the handheld version was on 30% discounted during one of the Prime day sales, so I bought it (62-3 bucks). As a drywall sander doing small section or one wall, it is really easier to wield than the pole sander. Offered here at this link - Wen Sander
I had to sand some plywood and thought I wonder how this hand held unit would fare. Well......... pretty good. I did a section for this posting and timed it.
16" x 18" the pictures shown represents 20 seconds of sanding. The Plywood is Radiata ply from Home depot. Very surprised how well it actually worked.
The unit is 9" and a orbital type sander. I have 150 grit on it. Something to consider when having to smooth out a big area.
Thought I'd Share .....
