Upcoming Auction-NCWW Raffle Items

Announcing an upcoming blind auction for items donated back to NCWW from the raffle. Auction details are as follows:

• Auctions will run for 7 days
• Highest bid at the end of 7 days will win the bid
• If multiple bids of the same amount are received, the first bid received will be deemed the winning bid
• Bids are to be submitted using the 'Start Conversation' button and sent to me (@bowman) or Richard (@Graywolf). Specifics to be included in each item being auctioned off
• You may bid multiple times, but the highest bid will be the recorded bid amount.
• Winner pays for shipping of the item
• Payment for the item and shipping will be via the Donate/Pay button

Items to be auctioned:

• Artisan donated prize "Not your typical sofa table" by @JohnnyR
• General Finishes- 1 pint of Arm-R-Seal & 1 pint of Wood Bowl Finish
• Waterlox- 2 quarts of Gloss Finish & 1 quart of Sealer/Finish (2 of these to auction, 2 highest bids will win)
• GPS Hardwoods gift certificate $100 (Located in Kernersville, NC)

I believe it is a silent auction. The bids will be revealed at the end. Just give it your best shot and hope no one goes higher.

I think that this is called a "blind auction."

I have also seen it called "Sealed bidding" when it is bidding to win government contracts. In that case, typically, low bid wins.

In every other silent auction that I have ever seen, the current high bid is available to encourage bidding higher.
