Evening all,
Finally got to posting some pics (in the Tools and Equipment photos) of the new bandsaw (Shop Fox W1729), and of the two bases the father in law and I built a couple of weekends ago.
Picked up the Shopfox W1729 from the Bibbtool&cutter folks out of GA. They had the item listed on eBay (actually two of em)...Ordered it on a Saturday, had it by Tuesday morning.
I have had a Sunhill 8"x72" jointer for quite a while, but could not move it around until now.
The bases are custom weld up jobs,
1"x2" steel channel, 4- 6" x`1/8" steel triangles welded into the corners for frame strength and also provide a place for the machine to rest.
Each base has two rear wheels, 3" (w/3/8" bolts) front of each base has a 3" swivel/locking caster on front. Of course, the Mrs. gets credit for the paint jobs on the bases...plan to finsih assembling the bandsaw this evening or tomorrow, do some alignment and test cuts....YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.
