Recently DaveO contacted me to let me know that a tree service company would be removing a nice white oak for one of his clients, and his client was interested in seeing the wood put to good use as opposed to going to a landfill.
As a result, there will be a few hundred board feet of quartersawn white oak going into the next kiln run, to be made available at the next Lumber Run.
But it gets even better...
Dave's client is into Nakashima style furniture, and she is interested in having a commission made from some of the white oak that comes from her tree. Our very own North Carolina Woodworker Don Patterson (Touchwood) has been conversing with her about this, and it appears that he will be able to provide serveral new pieces that she would like made.
All in all, a great North Carolina Woodworker win! THANK YOU DAVE O!!!!
