Stool & Tool-Tote Combo

I recently made a couple of the stools from a plan tucked in the back of the July 2007 issue of WOOD magazine. You wouldn't believe how much use they get around the shop! I sit on them, stand on them, you name it. Only one minor problem! The top is too big; needs to be a little smaller to make it less tippy.

Isn't is amazing how handy stools are in the shop? LOML made the stacking ones in one of the magazines a couple of years ago - they were great! Thanks for pointing out the recommendation about making the tops smaller.

I should make me a couple.

I wonder if the legs were "splayed" outward would it be less tippy?

That would be a very good idea! I removed the tops and cut 1/2" off each side. The width of the top needs to be equal-to, or less then, than the distance between the bottom of the legs.
