Here's a spoon I just completed. Wood is basswood and finish is garnet shellac and wax. Let me know what you think! I still have a way to go to catch up to PeteM!

Looking good man ... however, you'll need MUCH BIGGER drawers to store the utensils if you make a whole set!:gar-La;

Nice work Ed. Looks like you are really getting the hang of that carving thing.

Very nice :icon_thum Your design?
You did a great job on the bowl. Nice thin walls, symmetrical and very smooth.
The only thing is I think the top leaf is a little to big. Makes it look a bit top heavy.

Keep carving!

Looks great Ed! Not to take anything away from the rest of the carving, but I'm especially impressed by the thin walls and uniform shape of the bowl part.:icon_thum

Thanks for the comments guys!

Nice jiob! I'm jealous as I would like to take up carving but am a little intimidated.

Willie, it's just wood! I was (and still am) a little intimidated, but I figured I had to start somewhere if I wanted to learn how to do it. I'd like to take a class one of these days.
