Let me start off by saying I was a reluctant buyer to drop $530 on a belt sander for sharpening my lathe tools. I thought that my hand sharpening by eye was good- well decent or better anyways. I just did a couple gouges & a skew with my new toy & let me tell you that this piece of equipment is money in the bank. My tools were not this sharp or good straight from Sorby. I can't wait to sharpen all my tools now. I purchased about $300 in belts & attachments for basic sharpening but I can easily see dropping some more into the knife sharpening adapters now.
Anyone debating dropping the cash for one should really consider using this device. I am in no way affiliated with Sorby or any wood working distributorships just a home shop woodworker.
