Some Sassafras Crotch Bowls

I found a dead sassafras on my place. Sassafras is extremely durable so the bottom part of the tree is pretty solid. It had two crotches. Up where the crotches were, there was more decay. That's partially where the patterning comes from.

#2 from the same crotch. Turned from outside in (opposite of the way I usually do it).

#3 from a crotch higher up (smaller).

Really nice grain patterns in that wood. I have no idea where to even find sassafras wood much less pieces big enough to turn.
