First, I found a setting that dramatically speeds up the use of Firefox.

The deal is, Firefox can restore a "session" should your browser crash. Example, you have 5 pages open, crash, restart Firefox, it asks if you'd like to restore those 5 pages.

The problem? Firefox saves all the pages (sessions) every 10 seconds.

You might notice it on sites like YouTube, where everything will freeze, then resume.

I noticed it a lot on NCWW due to scrolling marquee and our site reloading Who is Online every 10 seconds.

Anyhow, I disabled the Session Restore feature, dramatic improvement. You can also set it to a longer interval if you want to take advantage of the feature.

For those who are brave, open this as a URL "about:config", look for browser.sessionstore.enabled and browswer.sessionstore.interval (default it 10000, thats 10 seconds).

My second question, is it appropriate for me to share this with the site?

Suggesting settings can have negative consequences. I'd appreciate some feedback.

Thanks,
Jim

I'd say you are ok, just add the ymmv, use at your own risk disclaimer. And yes I made it to Atlanta this quick. Now I can breathe:elvis::elvis:
