Search function seems too limiting

I'm looking for a 6" PVC source. I tried searching for PVC Source and get the following

PVC is not allowed but it did perform a search for "source" and returned about 300 hits. This seems a bit weird and limiting. How can I search for "PVC source" or 6" PVC?

John I am 98% sure the search function is a “built in” feature of our website. It is not something we can alter. Best alternative I can offer is to post the question in a new thread.

Not sure this will work but have you tried using a plus sign such as PVC+source?

Neither putting the string in quotes nor the + sign work. Playing around I found this way to search somewhat effective:
"PVC * source".

You can also use Google's search by searching for pvc source site:ncwoodworker.net
That will often provide better results.

Some search functions need four distinct characters.
I just put in: pipe + pvc
Got lots of hits to wade through. Try that.

the minimum length of the search function is 4 characters, I struggle with this also
