Hi -

I'm new to the network. Have spent most of my life admiring the woodworking skill of others & have recently gotten the furniture building bug out of necessity. My wife and I love the simple Scandinavian designs. After some initial attempts, I appreciate even more the ability to make these clean, simple designs look...well... simple and clean.

I'm looking for a local saw mill that may have less expensive 2nds/remnants/scraps that I can practice on. If you know about such saw mills, I would greatly appreciate hearing.

Appreciate the skills and craftsmanship you guys demonstrate and hope to get there someday.

And thanks to those who make this site and distribution list possible. Very cool.

First Wallace welcome to our little place on the web. You will find a list of sawyers and wood suppliers on the articles page. Her is the link.

The Hardwood Store in Gibsonville used to bundle shorts at reduced rates. I do not remember how many board ft the bundle was though. You are not far from Scott Smith's place. He goes by scsmith42 here, is a regular member and a super fellow. I do not know if he will have what you are looking for, but here is his website.
