Time to toss the old plywood scraps and blue tape on rulers. Made me some "proper" winding sticks and a prototype pinch rod.
If the pinch rod works, it is almost free as I can get about 15 pairs of the blocks from one stick of aluminum box. I used a bit of hose clamp as the pad under the set screw and I hardened the wood tips with C-A for durability. These are a "medium large" so I need to make smaller ones. Just could not get myself to pay $48 + shipping for the Reed or Veritas blocks. I will see if I need to solder on a thicker bit of aluminum for the lock screw threads. 10 x 32 so they seem secure at least for now.
