At lunch on Saturday I mentioned that I don't use patterns when I cut jigsaw puzzles. Sometimes I follow the colors, though not always with any particular shape of the pieces. The "Trees 2" puzzle gave me the opportunity to cut several pieces somewhat similar both in shape as well as the "picture-side" of the puzzle. Hopefully this will make the puzzle more challenging. I still didn't use a pattern - it's cut "free-hand" style.
I used different colored stars on the following picture to indicate which pieces I am discussing.
I am not sure that this helps demonstrate what I was talking about or not, but it was worth a try.
