Planed some old pine Sunday...

I moved the planer outside Sunday and took advantage of the strong breeze. THis is pine my Grandfather saw milled on the farm in the 1930s and use building barns. My Dad tore down a couple of the barns several years ago, and we stacked what was salvageable in the hay loft. I've built my wife a kitchen table from this wood, and next will be kitchen cabinets, I hope.

That is awesome. I am all for using lumber that has a little history to it. I hope you can and do build the kitchen cabinets.

I agree with Red, it's tough to beat the character of old and recycled lumber. I'm glad you're able to find a good use for it!

I agree... all wood has a history, but its extra special when it has some of YOUR history!

I'm jealous...thats some pretty stuff. I recently used the last of my reclaimed pine stash and I'm sure going to miss it. Good luck with the cabinets.
