Picked up the Delta 28-245 BS

Wander into the power tool area, finally...
Got the Delta 28-245 BS home last evening

so now it's time for me to learn how to tune-up

That looks almost exactly the same as mine before I retrofitted it. Overally, it is a good saw and should do you well.

Yes, believe I found your post about adding > 700 to a 28-425. I wish I
would not go that route, given that I've read that post.

Maybe I'll just tune it up following the Mark Duginske book to see how
it works.

I've read several times about the nickle test, but I seem to have problem
leave a nickle there alone, not even turning the switch.

I spent way more than I should have.:BangHead: Minimally, I would ensure the wheels are parallel, table is square to the blade and make sure the thrust bearings are in good shape. Everything else I did was unnecessary. You can get the shim kits from Iturra for less than $20 and the bearings from the place Junquecol suggested and be done for less than $40 tops.

I agree with everything Travis wrote. Do the basic tuneup and use it. Duginske's book is well respected.

Did the saw come with a few blades?
