Had to change 1965 vintage bathtub faucet washers today. The packing nut is recessed and a 3/4” deep socket is needed for removal. Screwing that nut back requires a filler sleeve in the socket to push the nut against the housing threads.

Who would have thought a scrap of 1/2” PEX would be perfect?
