old butcher block table

Has anyone ever cut or taken apart an old butcher block table.
I have one about 48" + long and about 24 " wide and about 16-18" deep.
Would like to cut it into two halves (24" x 24" x 16").
I was wondering if this whole block is glued.
Otherwise I will have to saw the block in half after removing the steel through rods.
I have taken an old table top butcher block 24" x 48" x 2" thick and it wasn't glued.
After taking the rods out, we will know.
Thanks,
Joe

I think when you pull one of the through rods in the middle you will find out if the glue is throughout the thickness by glue coverage on the rod. Could probably use a flexible rod inspection camera pushed into that hole to also inspect it.
