Really have not yet been able to put it through a good test yet an old short 2 x 4 was ok for checking setup, but hopfully i will get to run a little maple through this coming wekend.

I was going to take my time and find a good used one but after looking around some I realized used prices were not far from new prices. With the 10% 0ff at Woodcraft put the price down close to used prices so I did'nt think I would be making a mistake.

A few questions though

Any tips on getting the best results using a jointer.

That's awsome! Congrats.

Man I'm glad I didn't know you could get 10% more off their already amaizing price before I went watched craig'slist for 6 weeks. I wound up with a 25 y/o jointer at $125, but that's much nicer!

best results? good setup, and practice, practice, practice.

Knives? order a set now, running maple across that thing, you will be replacing them before you know it. I assume the knives in your machine can be flipped?? (like in your planer?) get some mini-planer-pals now for that machine, and the jointer equivalent too. save some serious stress.
