Hi.
I am a hobbyist woodworker and have tried to devote more time to it since beginning to concentrate on hand tool use.
I refurbish and sharpen hand saws, sometimes hand planes, and sell them on ebay.
I found this site by searching for information on the upcoming WIA event in WS, and look forward to contributing and gleaning info from it.

Thanks for all the replies. I am looking forward to the WIA. I took some pictures today. Some persimmon mallets I am starting on. I'll try and post a few pictures.


It is past time for a new froe handle.




I'll probably use the same wood for the handles. I burnt all my hickory this winter.

I hope to be up that way in the next couple of weeks - I will give you a "Heads-up" if you still have a piece? Is there anything you would like in trade? I have some walnut and maple (and maybe elm) squares (thinking handles or ????)

I have a good bit of the persimmon, rescued from the wood stove and gifted to me in return for a mallet.
