need help with surface planing .....

I have glued up some hard maple and I need it planed a bit, problem is its bigger than my planer. I thought I had a place to do this for me, but now they cant. Does anyone have a planer that can handle a 17 or 18 inch wide board ?? or know of a place
that may have one ? or if no planer around maybe a drum sander ?? Thanks in advance !

I have taken large slabs to the Hardwood Store in Gibsonville and they will run it through their drum sander for a very reasonable price. I think it was about $15. It is a little less than an hour away from Durham. As a bonus you can walk around and salivate over all of the beautiful wood while you wait.

I have a 2' planer. As long as it is clean wood, I'll run it thru the planer. I am north of Durham, a couple of miles past Bahama. PM me and we can set up a time, etc.
