Very nice, I'm sure she loved them. What woods and how thick are they?

I really like those. The third one is a pattern on my "to do" list if I ever get back to scrolling. Do you sand all of the inside edges, or is that just my obsession? What kind of finish did you use?

@Toolferone, very much NC woods… Walnut 1/4 inch (from Robert) White Oak 3/4 inch (from last years picnic) and New York butternut 3/4 inch I think… from Charlie (I think it was some kindof nut tree, wasn’t it Charlie?)

Thanks guys!

@Cathy… yes I used a popsickle stick with sand paper to sand the inside edged… not so much fun… No finish… I was debating about this, but they are supposed to be useful, and I they need to be extremely heat resistant, and I though varnish or poly would probably not be good for the bottom of a pot… I almost put mineral oil on it… but then decided against it.

What would you guys have used for finish on these… ???

Dan, Yes, that was butternut, from the sugar bush back home. Glad you found a good use for it. You did it justice:gar-La;
