Well I guess I really messed up. I left an unfinished kitchen chair on the front porch and now it has this greenish mold all over it.
It was left out there almost all summer and was forgotten about
until just a couple days ago.

The question is, how do I get this stuff off without harming the chair
and bring it back to the normal "unfinished" state.

I can get a photo of it (maybe) if that would be of any help.

I hope I've posted this in the 'correct' forum.

Thanks,

You can buy a bleach, but, depending upon the wood variety and the openess of the pores, you will likely be in for a good deal of sanding/wood removal.

I suggest this...
If you have a pressure washer, you can have it knock off all the mold.
I had done it in the past and the chairs looked new when I was done.
You know not even need any chemicals beyond water.

Thanks for the replies guy's. I had actually
thought of taking the chair to the car wash
to use their high pressure water. Gonna do it! :eusa_danc

Thanks again.

Only thing about a pressure washer is it will raise the grain drastically. I know this from using one on my deck.

Why don't you start with something a bit milder, say dish detergent with just a touch of bleach to kill the mold and use a scrub brush? If that doesn't work, car wash will still be there.
